About Melissa
Melissa Sharman is a passionate advocate for donor conception, surrogacy, and domestic violence reform. She founded Egg Donation Australia in 2011 and has personally been an egg donor and surrogate, helping create 22 babies for 14 families.
A survivor of domestic violence, Melissa has campaigned for law reform since 2016, presenting a 90,000+ signature petition to parliament in 2017. She founded Australians Against Domestic Violence (AADV) and now works at a Gold Coast refuge supporting families escaping violence.
An award-winning freelance writer and photographer, Melissa’s work has appeared in Australian and international publications, amplifying conversations on donor conception, surrogacy, women’s health, and domestic violence.
